Last month, Relic Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios held a closed beta for Age of Empires IV , but was limited to selected players. This weekend, the invitations are out the window, as the creators of the game are doing a technical effort test 'designed to test the game servers. That means anyone who wants to try the game for free (and encouraged) to do so. With the official release date of the game just over a month away, this weekend could provide to the team the perfect opportunity to see how the servers will remain.
Technical testing effort will begin on September 17 at 10 am PT and will run until September 20 at 10 am PT. Some fans may be disappointed by the brevity of the test, but there is a specific reason for the finite window: the team wants as many people to play in a span.
One of the reasons why we are organizing this event during a single weekend is that we are interested in bringing the greatest possible number of people to trial technical effort during this window to ensure that our pairing , lobbies and additional systems remain firm. the website of the game says.
Because of this, most of the focus of the test will be in the multiplayer mode of the game. However, it will provide content for a single player. Mission Zero, the tutorial of the game will be available. Players can also fight AI opponents in custom multiplayer game lobby. However, the creators of the game have specified that the purpose of this preview is to test the multiplayer mode, so most of the attention will focus on that. During the test, they will be available five maps and four civilizations: English, Chinese, Abbasid dynasty and the Holy Roman Empire.
Age of Empires IV is scheduled for release on October 28th. You can check all our previous coverage of the game right here and you can find information about the minimum specifications of the game. right here.
